This is an expensive hotel even by NYC standards, but it's now our favorite because it's quiet, convenient, and we never have any headaches. The parking is hassle-free, the help is great, and we really like the room we usually get (we ask for it specifically). The common area adjacent to the lobby is very comfortable as well.

Hotel Giraffe is one of those rare New York City hotels that somehow manages to feel both intimate and indulgent while still being perfectly located. From the moment you walk in, it feels less like a hotel and more like being welcomed into a beautifully run private residence — calm, warm, and genuinely thoughtful in every detail. The location is outstanding. Sitting right in NoMad, you’re within easy walking distance of Flatiron, Union Square, Madison Square Park, great restaurants, shopping, and multiple subway lines. It’s central without feeling chaotic — a huge win in NYC. You can step out into the energy of the city and just as easily retreat back into quiet comfort. The rooms are spacious by New York standards and incredibly well-appointed. Everything feels intentional: plush bedding, tasteful décor, generous bathrooms, and a layout that actually lets you relax after a long day of walking. The rooms are also impressively quiet, which is no small feat in Manhattan. It’s the kind of place where you sleep really well. One of the standout features is the hospitality. The staff here is exceptional — friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind without ever being overbearing. From check-in to checkout, every interaction feels personal. They remember you, anticipate needs, and clearly take pride in making guests feel cared for rather than processed. The daily breakfast and evening wine hour are wonderful touches that elevate the entire stay. Breakfast feels more boutique European hotel than standard NYC fare — fresh, relaxed, and a great way to start the day without rushing out the door. The wine and cheese hour in the evening is equally charming and creates a cozy, communal atmosphere that’s rare in big-city hotels. The overall vibe of Hotel Giraffe is calm, elegant, and effortlessly comfortable. It’s stylish without trying too hard and luxurious without being stiff. Whether you’re visiting for business, a romantic getaway, or a leisure trip, it strikes that perfect balance between refined and welcoming. Bottom line: Hotel Giraffe delivers exactly what so many NYC hotels promise but rarely achieve — comfort, warmth, excellent service, and a true sense of escape in the middle of Manhattan. It’s the kind of place you immediately want to return to and confidently recommend to anyone coming to New York. An easy, well-earned five stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The property was in a superb location. It felt safe at every time of day/night and it is very near to KTown and even Time Square. I walked everywhere when we stayed here and it was the perfect central location to just about everywhere. The property itself was clean and the room was phenomenal. We even had a balcony which was a welcome surprise! All the staff were super kind, but there was a gentleman that I saw regularly that was always so nice and we would regularly chat. It was like seeing an old friend and he single-handedly made my time here feel even more comfortable and welcoming. I believe his name was Chris or Christian (he had glasses and a mustache and would work the night shift a lot, he has a pet cat that we talked about). Overall, I'd definitely stay again. The staff were accommodating, the room was comfortable and spacious, and I loved that they had a beverage/snack station in the lobby 24/7. Very nice touch!

The hotel rooms are quite spacious for NYC standards. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful. My stay was good with minor hiccups that were beyond anyone's control - the hotel staff helped address it adequately. A few minor opportunities for improvement, even though I will likely still stay here again when I am in NYC: 1. Provide body lotion in the room 2. Test the faucets, shower-head, etc in the bathroom to fix leaks, etc

Homely hotel, friendly welcome and service, tea and coffee snacks available all day in the lobby and a free continental breakfast served in the lobby each morning, the lobby has sofas with low tables, and tables and chairs, great place to relax after a day in New York visiting the sights, no need to hide away in your rooms would definitely stay here again, as it is only a few blocks to all subway and bus stops. The hotel has a separately run restaurant in the basement and there are several good restaurants wishing 5 minutes way.

This was a great hotel for our family trip. Reasonably priced right after the last Christmas and New Year's holiday. Nice rooms, included breakfast in the morning and snacks throughout the day, and very friendly and personable staff. Recommend it highly.

This is my new favorite hotel in NYC! I have stayed in more than a dozen different NYC hotels and this is by far my favorite. Exceptional service at every turn, comfortable rooms, fluffy pillows, a beautiful calm lobby. The staff knows how to make guests feel like actual guests. Every experience, from dropping my bags to checkout was easy and remarkably pleasant. When I stayed here recently, it was for the second part of a trip, and the experience was 1000% better than the chain hotel I’d been in earlier. Thank you to the staff of Giraffe (see what I did there?)

We stayed at Hotel Giraffe in a Classic King Suite and appreciated how spacious and comfortable the room was. The layout worked very well for us, and having that extra space in New York is always a plus. The hotel has a warm, boutique feel and the location is excellent. It’s in a great area that feels lively yet comfortable. That said, service lacked a bit of warmth. especially considering the room rate. Breakfast was included but felt quite basic relative to the price point. With the rates charged, there is room to elevate both the breakfast experience and overall service polish. Overall, it’s a comfortable stay in a fantastic location, but there is potential to enhance the service details to better match the pricing.
